About the Course CREATOR
Mandy is the owner and founder of Sound Method Yoga in Omaha, NE. A hardworking studio owner, yoga teacher and mom she loves to write, cook and meet new people. She’s been teaching yoga since 2008 full time and has accumulated a pretty impressive number of teaching hours. Mandy is the director of Teacher Training and primary faculty for Sound Method Yoga’s Registered Yoga School. She has developed her own 200 Hour Teacher Training, 40 Hour Yin Teacher Training and others. One of Mandy’s favorite student endorsements was “She will not teach you halfway”.
Mandy’s classes are creative, authentic and often praised for her poignant storytelling. She offers retreats, trainings and workshops all over the world.
Lessons
Master Chaturanga This Month
This course will take you from 0 to hero in about a month. Commit to this journey with Mandy and reap the rewards. Lessons are short and straight forward. Drills are progressive and honor your unique journey. Just follow the simple program and you will be on your way to confident Chaturangas and better posture.
Foundations
Before you begin your drills you will take some time to strengthen and educate some key muscles. This will vastly improve your ability to progress.
Week One Drills
Establish the basics with a kinder relationship to gravity. Week one drills are all about muscle memory.
Week Two Drills
We’ll have to deal with gravity here but you will still use training wheels. During these first two weeks you are building strength, muscle memory and confidence!
Week Three Drills
After two weeks of diligent effort you are ready for more challenge. Don’t worry, you won’t get thrown in too fast! These drills will integrate your upper and lower body.
Bonus Drill
Your reward for a month of diligent practice? A special drill to perfect your jump back in your Surya Namaskar. It’s time for some fun! This section also includes a fun practice for you to put your new strength and knowledge into practice!
Master Chaturanga This Month!
It’s time to really understand Chaturanga Dandasana. No more fear or hesitation or crashing to the floor. Today is the day that you not only master the aesthetic perfection that is Chaturanga but you build the skill and strength to do it safely.
The story of Chaturanga is also the story of posture. In my Yoga Therapy practice I have discovered just two key muscle groups that can enhance posture and therefore confidence, respiratory function, digestion and of course neck and shoulder pain. Building the skill to master Chaturanga will also help you to improve your posture naturally and dare I say, permanently.
This course will take you from 0 to hero in about a month. Your drills will arrive every few days so keep up your practice to maintain your momentum. Commit to this journey with me and reap the rewards. Lessons are short and straight forward. Just follow this simple program and you will be on your way to confident Chaturangas and better posture.
